Battle Ground Lake Trip, August 4-5: Registration Required

Battle Ground Lake

UPDATE 27 July 2012: This trip is now FULL. Sign up for the waiting list via our Eventbrite event page.
Hello friends!

You may have seen our announcement about our next Cycle Wild overnight bicycle camping trip to Battle Ground Lake State Park in Clark County, Washington on August 4th and 5th. We’ve managed to secure a few campsites for this trip, as Battle Ground Lake is a very popular destination on a summer weekend. Because of this, we must limit attendance to fifteen people.

Would you like to come on this trip? If you do, you must register for this trip. Registration is free, however you’ll be paying a fee from $5 to $10 when you reach the park for your share of the campsite fee.

If you would like to register, please go to our Eventbrite event page for this event.

The basic details of the trip remain the same:
The ride will leave Portland on Saturday, August 4th. We’ll meet at the Cascades MAX Station (Red Line) near the airport at 10 am, and depart at 10:30 am. We’ll ride about 25 miles to Battle Ground Lake, using a mix of shoulderless rural roads with low traffic, bike lanes, bike routes through residential neighborhoods, and bike paths. There will be a few small hills that can be steep for short distances, but nothing major.

We’ll be camping in Battle Ground Lake’s rustic and secluded walk-in sites. There is indeed a lake, so you know what that means? Yes, that is right. Swimming. Be prepared for this fun business by bringing appropriate swimwear. There are also showers, but they do require quarters. Bring enough quarters if you want to shower (Two bucks will get you a pretty long one.)

We’ll return to Portland on Sunday August 5th.

If you have any questions about the trip, please get in touch. Remember, if you want to register for the trip, use our Eventbrite event page.
